It can become uncomfortable, not breathe enough, and restrict movement, achieving the exact opposite of what we at Arc'Warm strive for with all our products: "Freedom of Movement" and "Thermal Comfort."

We manufacture our jacket with a woman's contour to ensure maximum comfort and thermal insulation. In our Zero Absolute Evo Lady Jacket, we have incorporated the best materials and expertise necessary to create what we believe is the best mid-layer designed for motorcycling. These types of jackets, known by various names, including 2nd Layer, Mid Layer, Intermediate Layer, etc., must meet certain standards and specifications for motorcycling and fulfill their function, such as:

-The motorcycle mid-layer should be lightweight and comfortable; our Zero Absolute EVO Lady Jacket has an extra-lightweight weight of only 300g in size M-lady.

-A Mid Layer for motorcycling must insulate you from the cold, retain and trap your body heat to provide a layer of warm air around your body. It's also essential, and this shouldn't be forgotten, that a second layer must be breathable. For this reason, we've incorporated the best 90% down/10% feather ratio, and the loft and insulation power is of premium quality 850 fill power, a combination designed for motorcycling.

-The 2nd Layer for motorcycling shouldn't make you sweat if the temperature rises; it should help you regulate your body temperature with optimal breathability and wick away excess moisture. -The Mid-Layer shouldn't restrict your movement and should facilitate usage on the motorcycle. Therefore, we've incorporated UltraLight 20x20 Cordura on the outer layer, which is incredibly malleable, and also included elastic zones to facilitate natural movement on the bike and aid breathability.

A standard down jacket, designed for everyday wear or outdoor use, doesn't offer the breathability and mobility that we guarantee with our Zero Absolute Evo Lady. Furthermore, they typically have hoods that make them even more uncomfortable, and they completely lack elastic zones like ours, which are located underneath and at the back of the armpit to improve comfort while riding.

-However, the Second Layer, for independent use on the street as a casual jacket, must be windproof, durable, and water-repellent to be suitable for any situation. The Cordura Ultra Lite perfectly fulfills these requirements thanks to its DWR water-repellent treatment and wind resistance, but for outdoor activities, there are better options on the market, although the Zero Absolute Evo Lady also performs adequately, but without reaching the comfort of the specialist jackets in that sector.

-A Mid Layer should close completely upon itself and fit snugly in all areas where body heat is lost, both in the sleeves and at the bottom. It is designed to fit snugly and prevent body heat loss, along with a closed but not constricting collar.

Although not 100% necessary for motorcycle use, a desirable extra is that when stored on a motorcycle trip where space is always limited, it takes up minimal space. Our jacket is extremely malleable and compressible. It has an internal breathable mesh pocket, which, in addition to being able to hold motorcycle gloves or a neck warmer, can be compressed for storage, facilitating perspiration and the expulsion of odors and moisture. We have chosen the highest quality 90/10 down with an 850 fill power rating for the filling, and to arrive at this, during the conceptualization and development process, we had to answer all these questions.

Furthermore, although not all down jackets have a hood, they generally do, which we consider unnecessary for motorcycling. Therefore, we have eliminated the down-filled hood, which would only cause discomfort with the neck of the motorcycle jacket and helmet, significantly impacting passive safety. We have also opted not to include a waterproof inner hood to avoid increasing the product's cost. If it really rains, we recommend other specific products, such as a balaclava with a water-repellent or windstopper-like lower front or perimeter layer. If a hood is used with the second-layer jacket, the following will occur: water will run down the bottom of the helmet and directly onto the inside and outside of the down jacket, creating a very uncomfortable feeling of dampness. The best thing to do when the rain is heavy is to zip up your outer jacket as much as possible, as it's responsible for keeping out the water, and let the helmet and outer jacket combination do their job. If you still can't get comfortable, and your jacket has a storm collar, you'll have a high degree of waterproofing, since any water running down your helmet will go to the storm collar and from there to the outside of your jacket. As we said, if your mid-layer has a hood, all you'll achieve is trapping water between your outer and inner layers—a very bad idea.

The outer fabric is made of Cordura Polyamide Ultra Lite TexTreme 20x20 Dn, which is extremely lightweight, malleable, breathable, durable, windproof, and coated with a DWR treatment to ensure the fabric is water-repellent.

As an added bonus, we've included an increased elastic zone in our Zero Absolute Evo on the back of both sleeves and around the underarm area to facilitate the rider's natural movement while riding. The material is, of course, the best for preventing body heat loss and ensuring excellent breathability: Polar Winter Power Stretch Lycra, approved for use at temperatures below -10°C.
